Signature (Basic) Line - Late November 2013
The very first Cerise doll was of course the Signature Line doll which features each Ever After High student in their regular clothes.
I was drawn to Cerise straight away probably because I knew who's daughter she was supposed to be and, well, now I can look at any other character and think 'oh, she's the daughter of the Evil Queen' etc. but before they weren't so obvious.
Appearance:
So, probably the most striking thing about Cerise's appearance is that while her hair is otherwise dark brown, her fringe is partially white! Some dolls are also pictured with a long, white streak of hair to the side of her fringe, but my doll doesn't have it.
Cerise's hair comes down by her bum and unlike her straight-cut fringe, the rest of her hair is layered and looks really scraggly and choppy - Part of being part wolf I guess :)
As you can see from the picture above, Cerise's hood has to have a hole in the back of it so her long hair can fit through! I'm actually glad I don't remove my dolls from the box as this would have ruined it for me :/ But to be honest, there's not much of an alternative to it...
Apart from maybe cut her hair into a cute bob like one fan has done! I think she looks SO CUTE like this but I would never trust myself to do it!
Cerise has grey eyes and also wears silver / grey eye shadow. If her lips aren't natural it's a lovely mild pink lipstick. She has silver shines on her lips that suggest a clear gloss or a chap stick rather than a lipstick.
Cerise's skin is a dark peach / very light tan colour and doesn't really photograph well for those of us who don't have a good camera - When a bad camera is used she looks like one of those teenage girls who don't know how to apply foundation properly...
As I said in my previous post, Cerise's nose is different to the other cast members' noses as they have tried to make it more wolf-like.
Cerise's eyebrows are gorgeous, I love the untidy bit on the thick edge and how they have a lovely natural shape. In this photo you can actually see the eye makeup properly and you can see that Cerise only applied mascara to the top lashes as her bottom lashes are a lovely light brown :)
I am disappointed with Cerise's ears. The way she wears her hood and all the drama around it suggest that she should have more wolf-like ears :( These look more like pixie or elf ears to me. It would have been wicked cute if she had actual wolf ears like the Monster High wolf characters :)
Unfortunately she has those ugly half-holes in her ears too... It's like they decided to not give her earrings at the last minute. In my opinion this is the biggest reason she should be hiding her ears :/ Shameful, Mattel.
Cerise wears a dark red and black gingham top with black lace medium length sleeves. She also wears a black lace skirt over dark/light grey patterned jeans (which I LOVE because it is SO un-fairy tale!) Her jeans are tucked into her brown, calf-length boots which have brown laces, buckles and wedged heels. Her outfit is pulled together by a thick belt around her waist that has three silver buckles and a lovely series of chains dangling from it. One of the chains has a heart shaped locket on it :)
Cerise's cape has a plain red hood while the rest is patterned with a windy woodland pattern. Her cape is a little longer than her hair and is fastened securely around her neck with a nice chained clasp.
Accessories:
All the Ever After High girls seems to have a special ring - Cerise's ring is a red rose. The only other jewellery item she wears is a black bracelet. Cerise also comes with a picnic basket as her purse of choice, a black key-shaped hairbrush, her story and a black doll stand.
I like:
Her hair
Her makeup
Her face
Her clothes (especially the cape and the jeans!)
Her boots
Her purse
I dislike:
The hole in her hood
How disappointing her 'wolf' ears are

I'm Ash and I'm a Cerise Hood collector.
Once upon a time there was a girl named Ash and she loved Monster High dolls, Venus McFlytrap in particular. But while she loved Monster High a new series of dolls were released - Ever After High.
At first, though they were beautiful, none of these dolls particularly grabbed Ash's attention...
But then came Cerise. And so the story unfolds...
When I was small(er) I LOVED the story of Little Red Riding Hood, it was my all-time favourite fairy tale. I can remember even dressing up as Little Red in nursery for a fancy dress party! My mum made loads of realistic looking salt dough treats for me to fill my basket with, it was amazing until I got home and my dumbass friends thought they were real and tried to eat them.
I literally bought my first Cerise doll today. It took me this long because I was unsure how Ever After High was gonna do after Monster High and I wanted to make sure I could actually COLLECT Cerise dolls rather than just have the one doll of her.
So I dunno much about Ever After High, I've not watched the web episodes or anything (yet) so feel free to correct me on anything that might be wrong. The one thing I do know is that Cerise is the daughter of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, which I thought was pretty damn cool.
Unfortunately there seems to be a lot of drama about it online because 'she is a product of bestiality'.
Erm ok... So let's explore this.
1 - Yes, bestiality is illegal in most places and I am against it. BUT...
2 - This is a STORY. It is MADE UP.
3 - Bestiality is wrong because the animal in question cannot legally give consent (I have a degree in Sexual Health and I love to flaunt it!) I'm guessing that because the Big Bad Wolf had the brains to come up with a cunning plan to eat Little Red and could TALK, he happily gave his consent to have sex with her rather than eat her.
4 - I'm not going to go any deeper into it than that because this is a blog about Cerise, not about animal rights and I will carry on forever if I don't stop myself.
Anyway I'm guessing he's some werewolf or something judging by this family photo... I'll have to watch it.
ANYWAY.
She's a total babe as it is but oh my gosh look at those cute little ears!! Her father's identity is her biggest secret and as she has his (cuuuuute little) ears it is even more of a reason for her to keep her hood up!
She has also been given a more snout-like nose which is more noticeable in the doll version of her and is lovely in comparison to the over-used button noses many, many other dolls seem to have. Another really cute feature I saw today was her tiny, tiny, pointy fingernails! They are adorable and also add to her wolf-like charm! I'm sure some of the Monster High characters have similar hand but I wouldn't properly know as I'm only used to Venus... I'm sure Clawdeen must have!
Cerise is one of the taller dolls in the series which is weird for me because I'm usually drawn to smaller, cuter things, but what can I say? I think she's awesome.
I honestly can't wait to see where Ever After High goes next. I know there is a new Cerise doll (Legacy Day!) coming out (hopefully) soon and I will make a post on it ASAP but I'm really looking forward to what else they're gonna do with these fairy tale characters. I'm really hoping they do a 'Getting Fairest' version of Cerise just because I think PJ dollies are so cute!
So, yay, Cerise :) I'm so happy about this doll and I just can't wait to buy more of her :D
